CIRQUE DU SOLEIL's CRISS ANGEL BELIEVE
Okay, I'm not even gonna beat around the bush but this show sucked monkey balls!! I didn't really know what to expect about his show at the strip. And to be quite honest, I don't even know why he has his own show at the strip and for Cirque du Soleil to put their name on it as if it were a true Cirque du Soleil show was very misleading and just overall confusing and didn't make any sense. When I think Cirque du Soleil, I think of acrobats and wild and majestic performances. I didn't see that in Criss Angel's show.
Criss Angel's Believe show was so mediocre. There was too much darkness, explosions that blinded your damn eyes and his illusions were pretty boring. They did too much of the stand-up comedy performance with his little Mexican sidekick and less on his illusions. He used big props...unnecessary at that! The stage was dim and everything just seemed so rushed and routined. Even his voice didn't seem real....like it was pre-recorded and he lip-synced the whole show. The best part of the show was the dove trick and all the pretty doves that flew across the room. That really caught my attention!! LOL Aside from that,...I yawned the whole time, laughed at how cheesy and over-dramatic he was...and pretty much wished I was high or buzzin' the whole time during the show.
I'm surprised this show is still going this strong. For a Tuesday night, this show was full. I will never recommend anyone to spend their money on this show (good thing my Papa got us the tickets for free or I would've been PISSSSSED! lol). There are so many other great magic/illusion shows at the strip that is well worth your time and money. People walked out of that show laughing and very disappointed...even screaming at how disappointed they were..pretty scary! Overall, I think Criss Angel or anyone at that, who started doing street shows and transitioned into doing tv shows should stop there. You can't rule the world LOL...and in this case, Criss Angel is just gonna make a bad name for himself. Atleast David Blane, as weird as he is...he keeps it real. Criss Angel's show on tv was really good and he should stick to what he's good at! ;) But like I always say, "time goes where the money go, and where ever the money goes we go"...and there goes Criss Angel! LOL
Overall, I am rating this show a 3 out of 10. One for effort, two for his Mexican sidekick, and three because of the flying flock of doves. WOMP WOMP!
